Fine hair texture is very small in diameter, and tends to be weightless and flyaway. Frequently, fine limp hair is quite straight and won’t hold it’s style easily. Fine hair generally takes chemical processes easily, but care must be taken in using perms, relaxers and other treatments. Due to the fine texture, this hair type is easily over-processed. Careful timing is essential to avoid over-processed, damaged hair. I typically recommend clients with fine hair to get highlights, not so much for the need of having lighter hair but to plump up the hair cuticle. Applying a custom color to the hair after the hilights will add a dual-tone effect. Choose a volume shampoo and volume conditioner, both won’t weigh the hair down. Use the conditioner sparingly just on the ends. Or just try using light leave-in conditioner like our lavender mist. An Element Hair product called Thickening Spray is a light-hold volume mist, which plumps up individual hair strands providing exceptional body and volume for fine hair, as well as curl and texture control for all hair types. Consistent use will help to increase the volume as hair grows, leading to thicker, fuller hair. Sexy Sea Salt Spray is a texturing mist, used to enhance hair’s natural texture. Its matte finish is perfect for re-creating the look and feeling you’d get at the beach; tousled, sexy loose waves with light volume.
