At Element Hair, we pride ourselves on continually striving to be the best salon that we can be, whether that’s staying one step ahead of the next big trend or practicing a technique until it’s second nature. We are always learning something new and believe that education is one of the most important ways we can stay on top in our industry.
Every week, Element Hair team members get together for a morning training session where we learn anything from advanced hair cutting and colouring to customer service skills and tips. Progressive Upstyling Trends with Tammie Axworthy
Recently Element Hair was honoured to host proclaimed “Updo Queen” Tammie Axworthy for an updo workshop where we had the opportunity to learn Tammie’s tips and tricks on the latest upstyle techniques. The day focused on new updo trends and the latest celebrity styles that clients have been asking for, such as an Audrey Hepburn inspired updo that was clean and sleek, as well as creating stunning messy yet controlled updos and several braiding techniques using Goldwell and KMS California styling products. Tammie was a magnificent instructor and the team at Element Hair had a fantastic time practicing and creating some absolutely gorgeous hair styles. We really appreciated our time with Tammie and hope to have her back next year. Education is the key to our success!
Tammie Axworthy has been a hairstylist for 17 years and currently works at the prestigious Salon-Haven. She has worked with renowned companies such as Goldwell and KMS California and is part of the Goldwell North American Artistic Team allowing her to teach and train stylists all over Canada and the United States.

Consultation and Customer Service with Heather Scott
When it comes to creating the perfect look for a client the first step is to conduct a thorough consultation prior to the service that helps us to establish a relationship with the client and determine exactly what their individual needs might be. It helps us to learn as much as we can about their likes and dislikes, past experiences (good and bad) as well as general lifestyle issues that are relevant to their hair.
Element Hair recently had the opportunity to host a workshop by Heather Scott of Goldwell and KMS California and Education Manager for Kao Canada, where we learned how to conduct the perfect consultation. We learned that a proper consultation is a skill that is often overlooked, but when done well leaves the client feeling that they are in the hands of an expert who genuinely cares about their style, understands their needs and has the knowledge required to satisfy their wants.
Thank you again to Heather Scott – we can’t wait to get started on our new and improved consultations!

And now, Element Hair is happy to announce that Michael Crispel will be returning to our salon for another workshop! We can’t wait to further develop our precision cutting skills and learn new trends and techniques to always bring the best for our clients!
