The Top 3 Hair Trends from Spring 2016 Fashion Month
Every year when September rolls around so does Spring fashion month. It begins with New York Fashion Week, then London, Milan and Paris follow suit. Beautiful models strut down the runways wearing the latest garments to hit stores in the Spring for a crowd full of the who’s who of the fashion world. Behind every designer collection that you see on the runway is a fabulous glam squad full of talented hairdressers catering to the seasons trends and setting a few of their own. Some of the most popular hairstyles of the upcoming season can be seen emerging across collections throughout fashion month. We decided to pull together some of those popular, lust-worthy looks for you so you too can be on top of the upcoming Spring trends!
Micro Bangs
Fringes were plentiful on the runway this season with no shortage of ladies taking the plunge and going so far as to rock the micro-bangs. These micro-bangs or ‘baby bangs’ as some have so adorably nicknamed them, are messily hacked and were a staple at many London Fashion Week shows including Christopher Kane. We wouldn’t be surprised if we saw some of our favourite British ladies sporting this edgy look come Spring!
Powerful Ponytails
Across all fashion week shows, we saw many designers pulling off some form of a slicked back, smooth, fuzz-free ponytail. At Givenchy, models rocked slicked back, high shine ponytails while at Proenza Schouler hair was pulled back tight into a thick, streamlined braid. Our favourite? The lovely and equally easy to achieve twist seen at J.W. Anderson.
A Bit Knotty
Arguably the biggest trend seen during New York Fashion Week was the hair knot. And no, we do not mean buns or top knots – we mean quite literally, knots in your hair, more elegantly though we assure you. At J. Mendel models wore their hair low and loose with a large knot in the hair securing the ponytail. It felt modern while still looking classic and put together.
