Head Band Braid

Before starting we recommend curling your hair.

Pro tip: 2-3 day dirty hair works best for keeping braids in place.

  1. Take front section out from just behind the ear around top of head to the other ear. Use a wax to swoop the hair over the crown before beginning the braid.
  1. Begin with a 3 strand braid and keep adding to it along the way like a French braid. Make sure you are only taking pieces from the front area we just sectioned off.

Head Band Braid Step 2

Pro tip: invert the braid by tucking the pieces under instead of over each other.

  1. Continue braiding across the crown just past the ear and add an elastic to the braid.

Head Band Braid Step 3

  1. Go back over the braid lightly loosening it for volume and fullness.

  1. You can now tuck the braid with a bobby pin amongst the back hair where you have made your curls or follow steps 6 -9 for a ponytail look.

  1. Back comb and spray the non-braided portion of the hair for lift.

  1. Secure the back section in an elastic for a mid-height ponytail.

Head Band Braid Step 7

  1. Take a small section of the tail and wrap it around the elastic to hide it within the hair.

Head Band Braid Step 8

  1. You can lightly tease curls for volume and finish with light hairspray.
