Get a jump start on spring with our best beauty tips for the change of seasons.
Spring has sprung! It’s only been a couple of weeks since we entered the new season, but in its short run our team at Element Hair have already noticed emerging trends in the world of hair and nail. So, what can you expect from this season? Find out below.
Spring 2016 Hair Trends
Spring 2016 is vibrant and flirty and has something for everyone, whether you have short or long, thin or thick, straight or curly hair.
1. Captivating Colours: When it comes to colour a little pop can go a long way. Over the past few weeks, we have been doing a lot of hair colouring to lighten dark winter hair for spring — with colours ranging from denim to ronze to very hot cool blondes. Say goodbye to ombre and say hello to shading, the coolest way to create a sexy lived in look. Not only were these colours seen all over the spring 2016 runways, but they are also very versatile.
Backcombing is a great way to give coloured hair lift and volume, or add a spritz of texturing spray from our Sexy Sea Salt Spray before teasing for an extra dose of vavavoom!
2. Super Short Bobs: Considering chopping your hair? This would be the season to do it. The textured chin-length cut is making waves this season with celebrities like Taylor Swift and Heather Kemesky absolutely rocking their shockingly short hair.
3. Bangin’ Bangs: If you’re looking for a bit of edge this season, then look no further than the bang. This look makes a BIG statement. Plus, without cutting the rest of your hair, bangs give your cut an instant refresh that’s perfect for spring.
4. Flirt with Fringe: Haircuts with the fringe look best when paired with long straight hair. This retro style was seen time and again on the spring 2016 runways, especially for designers who had 70s-inspired fashion. So if you’re wardrobe includes the peasant blouse, wide-leg trouser or calf-length skirt, this is the trend that you should pay attention to.
Spring 2016 Nail Trends
Tired of your dark winter colours? New spring trends are here to give your manicure a fresh and fun look.
1. Nail Shape: Just like fashion and beauty, nail trends come in and out of style every season. And by the sounds of it, the spring 2016 nail shape trend will be an homage to the 80s. The “squoval” nail shape is back — think square nails, but with more rounded-off edges.
2. Barbie Pink: Bright pinks, magenta, fuchsia, and raspberry shades are super-girly and perfect to bust out as flowers bloom. If you prefer more subtle colours, consider a soft pale pink instead — it’s clean and timeless.
3. Matte Colours: Although most nail polishes give nails a glossy finish, this spring it is very trendy to have a matte or non-shiny nail colour. This trend has been everywhere, from D.K.N.Y to Alexander Wang, and is something you should try at least once.
